I’m strongly against the use of AI to create visual digital art.
I only use AI pics as the thumbnails for my blog as a gag. I’m not sharing them or promoting them as my own art. If you like them, I recommend using reverse-image search to find similar images created by real people.
For my personal projects, I’m experimenting with language models, which were trained based on conversational data from willing participants.
AI art models (Stable-diffusion, Midjourney, etc.) that were trained to plagiarize by scraping the internet are not ethical. What they produce is dumb, meaningless copy of a real person’s passion and work. I’ve seen people try to promote their AI art as their own, and those people are sadly stupid.
Generating digital art through AI and claiming it as your own is like turning up the volume on a radio and calling yourself a musician.
